The main objective of the institution is to provide facilities and offer opportunities for higher education in Engineering, Technology and Allied Sciences by Instruction, Training, Research, Development and Extension, and by such other means as the Univeristy may deem fit.
The centre has a well defined independent building of about 1000 sq. meters at Taramani Campus with facilities for carrying out research in various areas of biotechnology, housing modern infrastructure to conduct work in Bioprocess technology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, etc.
